I'm going to have to switch prescription drug plans again because my current has raised its premium to $16.80 a month, where previously it was $0. That would come out to about $200 in additional costs a year for me. But none of the cheaper or remaining $0 a month Medicare drug plans cover all my meds. I'm worrying about the fair hearing with the Medicaid people I have to go to Thursday. This is my second shot at trying to get Medicaid to pay for the $90 a month Medicare takes out of my Social Security money, this time without Legal Aid helping. Since filling in the fair hearing request form online just led to me getting server errors trying to submit it, I went back to trying to call to get a fair hearing. I started calling at 3 p.m., trying again every two minutes because I got a busy signal every time. So Medicare told me in a letter that I'm denied the Medicare Savings Program because I am "active in another case." Yeah, another case where they lost my paperwork and told me to resubmit it, which is what I did. The letter came Saturday.
